Southern Thailand Elephant Foundation – Thailand is a charity dedicated to assisting elderly, retired, abandoned or abused elephants in the South of Thailand by providing free elephant veterinary care and the very best in elephant medicine. We believe that through education, science and by example we can help in the protection and care of Thailand’s elephants and
preserve their role in Thai culture for generations to come.
Every possible effort must be made to conserve these majestic animals. As a non-profit organisation we cannot do this without the compassion and generosity of our donors and volunteers. Your help makes it possible for us to continue working to provide veterinary care and support for elephants in Southern Thailand.
We are dedicated to promoting the ethical treatment of Asian elephants in Thailand using the highest possible welfare standards with a strong focus on veterinary care and education. Rest assured that ALL funds that are donated, and part of your fee to volunteer with us, goes directly into the care of elephants at our dedicated elephant hospital by providing medicines, dressings, feed and helping with operational costs.
Our Veterinary Volunteer programme welcomes veterinarians, nurses, technicians and students to learn about elephant care and medicine which will hopefully further their future veterinary endeavours. Our team operates out of the Elephant Veterinary Centre near Khok Kloi, in Phang Nga Province in Southern Thailand (about 30 minutes’ drive from Phuket airport). We also operate a Mobile Clinic which travels throughout the southern provinces helping elephants in need.
